Hi! Today I am going to talk about make up. I believe that a lot of girls like to do makeup or would like to learn makeup but don’t know where to start? This post is about simple base makeup which is the most basic things you must know before you go for a more complicated stage.
Before you start makeup, you must make sure that you have the right tools and products. There are various brushes which you will need to perform makeup.I have provided you a list but for simple makeup, i believe what you need would be foundation brush and concealer brush before you go any further.

Please also check the expiry date of your makeup product! You wouldn’t want to use expired makeup product and cause any unnecessary damage to your face!
It is also important to maintain the hygiene of your makeup tools. Here are few tips!
- Deep cleansing once or twice per week. Used a bowl of hot water and add a little bit of mild shampoo. Foaming up and gently rub and remove the traces of makeup on the tools. Rinse well and shape with finger, lay flat to dry 🙂
- For quick cleansing, you can use brush cleanser. there are a lot of brush cleanser in the market and it is quite affordable. You can try out Stage brush cleanser or inglot brush cleanser. 🙂
Do you understand your skin type?
There are different skin type in each different individual.

What is a base make up?
Base makeup usually consists of base, foundation, concealer and powder.
For the make up base, from the words you will know it is the the 1st thing that you will put before any foundation. Its function is to creating a surface so that when you apply your foundation, it will look more perfect and your makeup will stay still the whole day! 🙂 I recommend Inglot make up base. It is the most amazing base that I ever used. It provide soft texture to your skin and it is at a affordable price as well. So do try it out if you are not sure what brand of base you should use:)
After base, you will apply foundation. Foundation creates even and uniform color to the complexion. It is important to choose the right foundation that suits your skin color as foundation comes in different color and different form. If you have oily skin u shall choose mattifying while dry skin shall pick hydrating foundation. Foundation tone must be close to your natural skin tone! please use foundation brush to apply foundation.
For the foundation, personally I like Clinique even better makeup foundation which come with SPF 15 and PA+++. It provide a good coverage and it covered most of the imperfections on your face 🙂 Again, you need to go to any clinique counter for consultation so that you can choose the perfect foundation for your skin 🙂
Next concealer, it is to covered up your dark circles, age spots, large pores and other imperfections on the skin which cannot be covered by foundation.
Lastly is powder. Powder is to set foundation and it can be reapplied throughout the day to minimize shininess 🙂
It is all about base makeup which consists of base, foundation, concealer and powder. Not to forget that it is important to apply all the necessary skincare prodcut before you started base makeup 🙂
After base makeup, perhaps you will need to know some highlighting, coutouring and check brush. Afterall makeup is to create illusions. Highlighting and contouring is really useful as it can brings forwards the features of your face which you wish to bring out and hide the features that you dont wish to bring out. Sounds complicated? No worries, for example, if you have flat nose bridge, you can use contouring method to create illusion so that your nose will not look that flat. Interesting right?
